How to Apply
1. Notify your airline during boarding of your intent to apply for visa-free transit.
2. Fill out an Arrival Card at the airport.
3. Submit your passport and ticket at the visa-free counter (Pudong: Terminal 1, Gates 6-7; Hongqiao: Immigration counter).
4. Receive a Temporary Entry Permit and start your tour!
Note: Ineligible if passport validity <3 months, prior visa refusal, or illegal entry/stay in China within 5 years. Overstaying may result in fines (RMB 500/day, up to RMB 10,000) or detention (5-10 days).
